PM inaugurates canal excavation in Bogura

BOGURA, April 20, 2026 (BSS) - Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today inaugurated the excavation work of a canal at Bagbari of Gabtoli upazila in his ancestral home district Bogura.

The premier inaugurated the excavation work of the Chaukirdah canal in the Nashipur area of Bagbari by cutting the soil with a spade around 3:45pm.

Local lawmaker Morshed Milton, Bogura Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Toufikur Rahman and Central Krishak Dal Senior Vice-President Md Helaluzzaman Talukder were present on the occasion, among others.

Earlier, the Prime Minister distributed ‘Family Card’ among 911 beneficiaries at Shaheed Zia Degree College ground at Bagbari in Gabtoli upazila. 
 
The premier arrived at the Bogura Circuit House at 9:58am on a daylong tour.

This is Tarique Rahman’s maiden visit to his ancestral home district after assuming office as the Prime Minister on February 17.
