DMP files 918 cases for traffic rules violation

DHAKA, April 20, 2026 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Traffic Division has filed a total of 918 cases across the capital for violating traffic rules.

According to a press release issued here today signed by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Media and Public Relations Division) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police NM Nasiruddin, the DMP Traffic Division filed those cases on April 19 through regular drive against traffic rules breakers.

It said the DMP traffic police dumped 359 motor vehicles and towed 23 vehicles during the campaign against traffic rule violation.

The DMP’s release further said these drives against traffic rule breakers will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets and ease movement of the city dwellers, it said.

It, further said that Ramna division filed 101 cases, Lalbagh division registered 88 cases, Motijheel traffic division filed 208 cases, Wari division registered 104 cases, Tejgaon division filed 101 cases, Mirpur division filed 141 cases, Uttara division registered 89 cases and Gulshan division filed 86 cases against motor vehicles as well as three wheelers and motorcycles.
