DHAKA, May 21, 2026 (BSS) - Attorney General Barrister Md Ruhul Quddus Kazal has said that the faster justice is delivered in brutal crime cases, the more public confidence in the country's justice system will be restored.

"The right to speedy trial is a fundamental right of every citizen. I believe that the quicker justice is delivered in such brutal incidents, the more people's confidence in the judiciary and the justice system will be restored," he said.

The chief state counsel said this while replying to a question on the trial over the brutal killing of a seven-year-old child in the capital's Pallabi area.

The Attorney General further stated that he believes law enforcement agencies will submit the investigation report in the case within the shortest possible time.

He said if such tragic incidents are tried swiftly by the state, recurrence of similar crimes in the future can be prevented. "I believe it is possible to complete the trial of this case within the shortest possible time," he added.
