RU signs Letters of Interest and MoUs with two Pakistani universities

RAJSHAHI, May 23, 2026 (BSS)- With the aim of mutual cooperation in higher education, research and other relevant fields, the University of Rajshahi (RU) has signed Letters of Interest (LoI) and Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) with Pakistan's National University of Modern Languages (NUML) and the National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences (FAST-NUCES).
 
A RU press release here this afternoon stated that the LoI and MoUs were signed by RU Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Faridul Islam, NUML Rector Major General (Retd.) Shahid Mohammad Kayani, and FAST-NUCES Rector Dr. Aftab Ahmed.
 
As a result of these agreements, the scope of mutual cooperation will be expanded to include: exchange of teachers, researchers and students, joint educational and research activities, provision of scholarships, administrative exchanges, language and cultural cooperation and development of institutional relations among the partner universities.

It may be noted that the RU Vice-Chancellor is currently on an eight-day official visit to Pakistan.
 
Another RU press release said the Government of Pakistan has announced the 'Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarship Program' for Bangladeshi students. 

Under the 'Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor', the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan is providing this fully-funded scholarship.
 
Through this scholarship, Bangladeshi students and researchers will have the opportunity to study and conduct research at the undergraduate, postgraduate and PhD levels in Pakistan's leading universities.
 
The scholarship will cover full tuition fees, monthly stipend, accommodation, airfare, books and other academic expenses.
