DMP files 2,201 cases for traffic violations

DHAKA, June 16, 2026 (BSS) - Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) filed a total of 2,201 cases in a single day across the capital for violating traffic rules.

The cases were filed on June 15, a DMP press release said here today.

During the drive, the Traffic Ramna Division filed 71 cases, Lalbagh Division 167 cases, Motijheel Division 446 cases, Wari Division 142 cases, Tejgaon Division 200 cases, Mirpur Division 404 cases, Uttara Division 434 cases, and Gulshan Division 237 cases.

A total of 433 vehicles were impounded and 313 others were towed, the release added.

It further said that such drives will continue to ensure discipline on Dhaka's streets.
