Royal Oranje finish 3rd for BangNations Cup ladesh at

DHAKA, June 16, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh’s representative team, Royal Oranje secured third place at the World Cup-themed  7-a-side Nations Cup Tournament held in Thailand, said a press release.

The international tournament featured participation from 10 countries, and the Bangladeshi side impressed from the very beginning. Royal Oranje made a strong start by defeating England 2-1 in their opening group-stage match. Although they suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to Myanmar in the second match, the team bounced back in style.

Bangladesh then defeated the United States 2-0 before recording a commanding 9-0 victory over Scotland, finishing as champions of Group A and booking a place in the semi-finals.

n the semi-final against Ireland, the match ended 1-1 in regulation time after a thrilling contest. Bangladesh’s hopes of reaching the final were dashed in the tiebreaker, where they lost 3-2.

However, Royal Oranje responded strongly in the third-place playoff, defeating the United States 2-1 to finish the tournament with the distinction of securing third place.

Bangladesh also shown in the individual awards, with footballer Arman Hossain claiming the tournament’s top scorer award.
