BCG provides free medical services to 426 people in Patuakhali

PATUAKHALI, June 17, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) has provided 
free medical treatment and distributed essential medicines among underprivileged residents of Itbaria area in Sadar upazila here, benefiting a 
total of 426 people.

According to Coast Guard sources, the force has been carrying out various 
humanitarian and public welfare initiatives since its inception to support 
helpless, distressed, and low-income communities living in coastal and 
riverine areas. Regular medical campaigns are among the key services aimed at 
improving healthcare access for these vulnerable populations.

As part of these ongoing efforts, Coast Guard Base Agrajatra organised a 
medical campaign in Itbaria on Tuesday. The programme was conducted from 9 am 
to 2 pm and offered free healthcare services to local residents.

During the campaign, 426 beneficiaries, including disadvantaged individuals, 
distressed people, and children, received medical consultations and 
treatment. Essential medicines were also distributed free of charge among the 
patients.

Coast Guard officials said such humanitarian and public welfare activities 
would continue in the future to ensure better healthcare services for people 
living in the country's coastal regions.
