RAJSHAHI, June 21, 2026 (BSS) - An evaluation team from the ‘Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education’ (BAETE) has arrived to inspect Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET).

On the first day of the three-day visit, the team reached RUET this morning.

After arriving, they attended a meeting in the conference room of RUET’s administrative building with Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. S M Abdur Razzak, deans of various faculties, and the acting registrar.

Following the meeting, the inspectors visited various departments to observe the quality of education, infrastructure, and the designated and essential facilities available for students to expand higher education at RUET.

On the final day of the visit, next Tuesday, they will hold another meeting with the Vice Chancellor, faculty deans, and registrar before departing.

The BAETE evaluation team monitors and provides recommendations for improving the quality of engineering and technical education, as well as grants accreditation.

After BAETE’s previous visit, three key RUET departments—Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Civil Engineering—received the prestigious ‘BAETE Accreditation’ for 6 years.

Additionally, the Mechanical Engineering department is awaiting approval for ‘BAETE Accreditation’.
Obtaining accreditation means the education quality of RUET’s relevant departments is recognized as meeting international standards.

As a result, students will have greater acceptance for higher education at foreign universities. It will make securing international scholarships easier.

Students will get priority for jobs at multinational companies, and it will pave the way for benefiting from international agreements like the ‘Washington Accord’ in the future.
