National Seminar on Budget held at RU

RAJSHAHI, June 23, 2026 (BSS) - A national seminar on the 2026–2027 fiscal year budget was held at the University of Rajshahi (RU) today.

The Institute of Bangladesh Studies (IBS) Alumni Association organized the seminar. 

The seminar, titled ‘National Budget 2026–2027: Expectations and Proposals’, was held in the Senate Building. 

Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Professor Md. Abdul Alim attended it as the chief guest, while Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Professor Mamunur Rashid and IBS Director Professor M Mostafa Kamal were present as special guests. 

TMSS Executive Director Professor Hosne Ara Begum attended the event as the guest of honor. 

Chaired by Association President Professor Md. Fazlul Haque, the seminar featured a Distinguished Fellow of the research organization Centre for Policy Dialogue (CPD), Professor Md. Mostafizur Rahman, as the main discussant. 

Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Dr. Abdur Rahim presented the keynote paper on the seminar’s central theme.

IBS Fellow Rahena Begum moderated the seminar.
