The program was officially inaugurated on Tuesday afternoon by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Shahid Hossain Chowdhury.

In the first phase, agricultural support materials -- including tree saplings and summer vegetable seeds -- were distributed among approximately 200 farmers.

According to officials, the full program will gradually cover 7,000 farmers and include a total distribution of 20 metric tons of rice and vegetable seeds, 7,000 fruit and forest saplings, 124 metric tons of chemical fertilizers, 42 metric tons of organic fertilizers, and 7,600 bamboo poles.

Authorities said the initiative aims to boost agricultural production, promote environmental conservation, and increase farmers’ incomes in the region.
