Relief rice distributed among 600 affected families in Naogaon

NAOGAON, June 23, 2026 (BSS) - A total of 600 families affected by natural disasters in Porsha upazila of the district received government relief rice on Tuesday morning.

The distribution programme was jointly organized by the Upazila Administration and the Project Implementation Office and held at the Upazila Parishad hall room. Each affected family was provided with 30 kilograms of rice.

The event was chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rakibul Islam. The programme was formally inaugurated via mobile phone from Dhaka by local Member of Parliament Mostafizur Rahman, who joined as the chief guest.

Among others, present at the event were Porsha Upazila BNP General Secretary Sadikul Islam, Upazila Project Implementation Officer Mahmudul Hasan Titu, Nitpur LSD Officer-in-Charge Riazul Islam and Porsha Thana Jubo Dal Convener Iqbal Hossain Chowdhury.

Officials said the relief distribution aims to support families impacted by recent natural calamities and ensure basic food assistance during recovery.
