SANGSAD BHABAN, June 23, 2026 (BSS) - Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md. Asaduzzaman today said the government is ready to give any further legal protection to the July warriors.

The law minister said this in a statement under section 300 of the rules of procedure while opposition Bangladesh Jamaat-e Islami lawmaker Rokeya Begum (women seat-45) sought explanation to the law minister on the political protection to the July warriors at the Jatiya Sangsad here with Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, Bir-Bikram, in the chair.

“The present BNP government has given protection to the July and the July warriors after bringing it under the legal frame and it is the political protection also. We are very much agreed with all her speech and emotion,” he said.

“Every act is a political document, every act is a public policy of the government”, he said, adding that the government can give protection through only the legal framework. The present government which also upholds July spirit has given all the legal protection to the July and July warriors and it is also a political protection,” the minister said in his statement.

“If she [the lawmaker] recommends for any further protection for the July warriors which would be ensured and the government is ready to give that protection,” he added.

During the budget speech, Jamaat-backed alliance MP Rokeya Begum, mother of July martyr child Jabir Ibrahim, sought explanation saying that the present government has given legal protection to July worriers. But it did not give political protection to the July warriors, she added.
