SANGSAD BHABAN, June 23, 2026 (BSS) – State Minister for Food Md. Abdul Bari today told  the Jatiya Sangsad that farmers can register from home through the Krishoker App or the online system introduced for direct digital procurement of paddy from farmers by the government.

He said even marginal and illiterate farmers can complete registration or apply to sell paddy with assistance from family members using a smartphone or computer. They can also receive support from Union Digital Centres or any local computer service shop.

The state minister made the remarks while responding to a starred question tabled by opposition member (Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami) Md. Golam Rasul from Jashore-4 constituency.

He informed the House that once a farmer receives an agricultural card issued by the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), separate registration through the Krishoker App will no longer be necessary. The app will be directly integrated with the agricultural card database.

Abdul Bari said a Farmers’ Assistance Booth is set up at every government food warehouse during procurement drives to provide support services to farmers, functioning as a one-stop service centre.

The state minister further said that, alongside the Krishoker App, paddy is also being procured from farmers listed by the Department of Agricultural Extension on a “first come, first served” basis to make the government procurement process easier and more accessible.
