DHAKA, June 26, 2026 (BSS) - Deputy Speaker of Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Barrister Kayser Kamal today said there is no alternative to sports and cultural activities in protecting the younger generation from drug abuse and building a healthy, disciplined and responsible society.

"Sports inspire young people with discipline, leadership and patriotism. There is no alternative to sporting activities in building a healthy, aware  and responsible generation. Sports also play a vital role in nurturing the talent and potential of our youths," he said.

The Deputy Speaker made the remarks while inaugurating the BAGACHAS Indigenous Football Tournament Season-2, organised by the Bangladesh Garo Students' Organisation (BAGACHAS), at the Government Physical Education College ground in Mohammadpur here.

communities.

Welcoming the initiative, Kayser Kamal expressed hope that the tournament would help develop the talents of indigenous and ethnic minority youths and facilitate their greater integration into the national mainstream.
