Four more die of suspected measles

DHAKA, June 28, 2026 (BSS) - Four more patients have died from suspected measles across the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS). 

During the same period, 1,057 new measles cases were reported nationwide, while 116 patients with laboratory-confirmed measles were admitted to hospitals, a DGHS press release said.

The release said 941 new suspected measles cases were also recorded in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of suspected cases since March 15 to 99,207. The cumulative number of confirmed measles cases has reached 11,710.

A total of 82,844 suspected measles patients have so far been admitted to hospitals across the country. Of them, 79,152 have recovered and been discharged after receiving treatment.

Since March 15, a total of 619 children have died from suspected measles, including four deaths reported in the past 24 hours.

No deaths from laboratory-confirmed measles were reported during the period, leaving the cumulative number of confirmed measles deaths at 93 since March 15.
