Fakhrul mourns death of eminent artist Mustafa Monwar

DHAKA, June 29, 2026 (BSS)- BNP Secretary General and Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today expressed deep sorrow and condolences over the death of eminent artist Mustafa Monwar.

In a message, the minister described Mustafa Monwar as a shining star of the country's art and cultural landscape. The nation would always remember him with profound respect for his outstanding contributions to the development of fine arts, preservation of the culture and heritage and the creative development of children and young people, he said.

He added that Monwar's artistic works, creativity and humanistic values would continue to inspire the future generations.

The minister said that the artist's death is an irreparable loss to the country's arts and cultural community and has created a deep void for the nation.

He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and extended his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the bereaved family, colleagues, admirers and countless well-wishers.
