DMP files 2,592 cases for violating traffic rules

DHAKA, June 29, 2026 (BSS) - The Traffic Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan 
Police (DMP) filed a total of 2,592 cases in a single day across the capital 
for violating traffic rules.

The cases were filed on June 28, a DMP press release said here today.

During the drive, the Traffic Ramna Division filed 121 cases, Lalbagh 
Division 279 cases, Motijheel Division 463 cases, Wari Division 190 cases, 
Tejgaon Division 348 cases, Mirpur Division 488 cases, Uttara Division 443 
cases, and Gulshan Division 260 cases.

A total of 549 vehicles were impounded and 285 others were towed, the release 
added.

It further said that such drives will continue to ensure discipline on 
Dhaka's streets.
