DHAKA, June 30, 2026 (BSS) – Industries, Commerce, and Textiles & Jute Minister Khandakar Abdul Muktadir today said the training programmes of the Bangladesh Industrial Technical Assistance Center (BITAC) are timely and well aligned with the country's growing demand for skilled industrial manpower.

“The government's investment in the programme is yielding significant returns by producing a skilled workforce for industry,” he said.

The minister made the remarks while speaking at a ceremony to distribute certificates and appointment letters to the 20th batch of BITAC trainees in the capital.

The event was presided over by BITAC Director General Md. Firoz Uddin, while Industries Secretary Abdun Naser Khan attended as the special guest.

Muktadir said around 16,000 youths are receiving training under the project, which is helping build their careers and contributing to the country's industrial development.

He noted that the three-month training programme not only equips participants with technical skills but also instils discipline, responsibility and a professional work ethic.

Given its success, he said, the government is considering expanding the project or launching similar initiatives to include thousands more young people.

Highlighting the programme's contribution to women's empowerment, Muktadir said all 165 female trainees under the project have already secured employment, reflecting its strong impact on job creation.

Speaking on the occasion,  Abdun Naser Khan said the recruitment of trainees by employers even before course completion demonstrates the credibility and effectiveness of BITAC's training curriculum.

He also said BITAC is fostering entrepreneurship alongside employment by providing advanced technology-based training and entrepreneurship development support, enabling many trainees to establish their own businesses and generate further employment opportunities.
