CHITTAGONG UNIVERSITY, June 30, 2026 (BSS) - The 62nd joint meeting of the Finance Committee (FC) and the Syndicate of Chittagong University (CU) approved an estimated revenue budget of Tk 5.034737 billion for the FY2026-27. The meeting also approved the revised revenue budget of Tk 4.899979 billion for the FY2025-26 fiscal.

The budget was approved at the joint meeting held at the Vice-Chancellor's (VC) Office around 10:30 am today, following its presentation by Acting Comptroller of Accounts and Finance Committee Secretary Md. Amirul Islam.

The meeting was chaired by VC Prof. Dr. Mohammad Al-Forkan. 

"We have been working tirelessly for the advancement of education, research and the overall development of the university. Giving the highest priority to academic and research activities, we have initiated administrative and physical infrastructure development. We have also undertaken various action plans with special emphasis on education, research and innovation," said the Vice Chancellor.

Prof. Forkan added, "We have taken various initiatives to enhance translational or applied research at the university. At the same time, necessary measures have been undertaken to improve Chittagong University's position in global university rankings, and the process is ongoing."

Among those present at the meeting were Pro-VC (Academic) Prof. Dr. Mohammed Al-Amin, Pro-VC (Admin) Prof. Dr. Md. Safiqul Islam, Syndicate Secretary and Acting Registrar Prof. Dr. Mohammed Saiful Islam, Syndicate members S.M. Fazlul Haque, Prof. Dr. Md. Manzoorul Kibria, Mohammad Ali and M. Siraj Uddin Mia. Syndicate member Prof. Dr. Abul Kalam Azad joined the meeting virtually.

Also present were FC members Prof. Dr. Md. Iqbal Shaheen Khan, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nesarul Karim, Prof. Abu Muhammad Atikur Rahman, Prof. Dr. Shahadat Hossain, Prof. Dr. Morshedur Rahman, Comptroller of Accounts Office Administrator Prof. Dr. Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, Acting Chief Engineer Abdul Ahad, Acting Director of the Planning and Development Office Md. Altaf-ul-Alam and Deputy Registrar of the Council Section Md. Delwar Hossain.
