Two children die with measles symptoms in 24 hrs

DHAKA, July 4, 2026 (BSS)– Two more children died with measles symptoms across the country during the past 24 hours.

The information was disclosed today in a press release issued by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to the report, 101 confirmed measles cases were reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 12,526 since March 15.

The statement said 732 suspected measles cases were reported during the past 24 hours, raising the total number of suspected cases to 104,693 between March 15 and July 4. 

Two children died with measles symptoms during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths with measles symptoms to 638 since March 15 till date, the statement reads.

No deaths from confirmed measles were reported during the past 24 hours. 

From March 15 to July 4, a total of 93 people died from confirmed measles.

Since March 15 this year, a total of 87,966 patients with suspected measles were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 84,218 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals.
