7 more die of suspected measles

DHAKA, July 05, 2026, (BSS) - Seven more children have died from suspected measles across the country during the past 24 hours, while 1,031 new measles cases were reported during the same period, according to a press release of Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

According to the release, the number of suspected measles cases recorded in the past 24 hours stood at 925, bringing the total number of suspected cases to 105,618 from March 15 to July 5.

During the past 24 hours, 106 confirmed measles cases were reported, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 12,632 from March 15 to July 7.

Since March 15, a total of 88,844 suspected measles patients have been admitted to hospitals, while 85,122 patients have recovered and been discharged during the same period.

The release said seven deaths from suspected measles were reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths among suspected measles cases to 645 children from March 15 to July 5.

No death from confirmed measles was reported during the past 24 hours. Since March 15, the total number of deaths from confirmed measles has remained at 93.
