DHAKA, July 26, 2026 (BSS) – The first meeting of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Ministry of Finance of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad was held today at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with committee chairman Mushfiqur Rahman, MP, in the chair.

During the meeting, a detailed presentation was made on behalf of the Bangladesh Bank on the country’s central bank and its monetary policy. The committee members later took part in an extensive discussion on the issues highlighted in the presentation.

Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury, MP, Chief Whip Md. Nurul Islam, MP, State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam, MP, Md Jalal Uddin, MP, Moinul Islam Khan, MP, Md Shahadat Hossain, MP, Md Saiful Alam, MP, Syed Zainul Abedin, MP, and Md Abul Hasnat, MP, attended the meeting, said a press release of parliament secretariat.

Secretary of the Financial Institutions Division of the Ministry of Finance, Secretary of the Internal Resources Division, the Acting Chairman of the National Board of Revenue (NBR), along with officials from the relevant ministries and the Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat, were also present.
