Parliamentary activities to be presented more effectively to people

DHAKA, Sept 9, 2026 (BSS) - The second meeting of the Programme Management 
Committee, formed to determine the content of programmes of Sangsad 
Bangladesh Television, provide guidelines and suggestions for improving their 
quality, and make the channel fully operational, was held today.

Whip ABM Ashraf Uddin (Nizan) chaired the meeting at Committee Room No. 1 of 
the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Bhaban here.

The meeting discussed various issues related to programme production and 
broadcasting by Sangshad BTV and ways to present parliamentary proceedings 
more effectively to the people. 

The meeting recommended forming a seven-member committee to this end, said a 
press release of Parliament Secretariat.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Andaleeve Rahman, Members of Parliament 
including Md Shahidul Islam, Md Shahadat Hossain, Fahmida Haque, Bithika 
Binte Hossain and Mardia Mumtaz attended the meeting.

The Director General (DG) of Bangladesh Television, DG of Sangsad Bangladesh 
Television, Chief News Editor of Channel 24, and relevant officials of the 
Bangladesh Parliament Secretariat and Bangladesh Television were also 
present.
