Bangladesh finishes Men's Jr. Asia Cup with losing note

DHAKA, Sept 9, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh finished their U-20 Men's Junior Asia 
Cup Hockey tournament with a losing note as they conceded a 3-0 defeat to 
Pakistan in their ultimate group match held today (Wednesday) in China's Moqi 
city in Mongolia.
 
In the proceeding, Pakistan took an early lead in the first quarter. Rana 
Waleed scored two field goals in the 9th and 12th minutes. Bangladesh tried 
hard to fight back and defend well in the next two quarters.

However, Pakistan scored their third goal in the 52nd minute through Mustafa 
Ghulam to seal the victory.

Despite the loss, Bangladesh showed good spirit throughout the match. The 
team will now focus on the upcoming matches of the tournament.

Earlier, Bangladesh started their campaign with a 3-2 defeat to hosts China 
before suffering a 4-2 loss to Malaysia in their second match.

Bangladesh, however, managed a narrow margin of 4-2 goals win over Kazakhstan 
in their third group match.
