DHAKA, Sept 9, 2026 (BSS) - The United States has provided emergency medical and training equipment to the Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG), strengthening its frontline medical response and disaster-relief capabilities.

The equipment was handed over in Chattogram and Teknaf on September 7 and 9 through the Overseas Humanitarian Assistance Shared Information System (OHASIS) project, US Embassy spokesperson Poornima Rai said in a statement here today.

The donation includes 120 fully equipped trauma-response bags and 21 cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training mannequins for Coast Guard personnel across the region.

The initiative builds on longstanding US support for the Bangladesh Coast Guard and the country's humanitarian response capacity, the statement said.

It also advances mutual security cooperation and helps empower capable partners in the Pacific, it added.
