DYD to provide free basic AI training in all 64 districts

DHAKA, Sept 9, 2026 (BSS) - The Department of Youth Development is organizing free basic training on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in all 64 districts of the country to build a skilled workforce in information technology.

The two-month training will be provided free of cost. Participants will also receive a daily travel allowance of Taka 200 and food during the training.

An admission notice in this regard was issued by the Office of the Director General of the Department of Youth Development under the Ministry of Youth and Sports on September 7.

According to the notice, young men and women aged between 18 and 35 years from all 64 districts of the country can apply for the training.

Applicants must have passed at least the HSC or equivalent examination. They must also have basic knowledge of computers and Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The training will begin on October 1 and continue until November 30, 2026. The training will be conducted for six hours a day. Certificates will be awarded to those who successfully complete the training.

Interested candidates must apply through online. The deadline for applications is 1:59am on September 23, 2026. A written examination will be held on September 26, followed by an oral examination on September 27. The final results will be published on September 29. The examination centre and schedule will be communicated through SMS.

Candidates with basic knowledge of computers and ICT, as well as proficiency in English, will be given priority in the selection of trainees.

The eight divisions of the country have been divided into four packages for conducting the training programme.

E-Learning & Earning Ltd will conduct the training under Package-1 in Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions. SEO Expate Bangladesh Ltd. JV is responsible for Package-2 in Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions. e-Learning & Earning Ltd will conduct Package-3 in Barishal and Khulna divisions, while Service Engines Ltd. JV will conduct Package-4 in Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.

The training programme is being implemented under the Department of Youth Development’s project titled “Skill Development of Youth with Information Technology Knowledge through Artificial Intelligence (AI) Technology.” The initiative aims to enhance young people’s AI and information technology-based skills and create opportunities for employment and self-employment.
