Three more children die with measles symptoms

DHAKA, Sep 09, 2026 (BSS) - Three more children died with measles symptoms across the country in the last 24 hours, raising the number of deaths from confirmed measles and measles symptoms to 1,002 since March 15.

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) said this at a press release issued by its control room today.

It said 1,119 suspected measles cases were reported in the last 24 hours, while the number of suspected cases stood at 167,580 from March 15 to September 9.

The number of confirmed measles cases was 69 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 19,904 since March 15.

From March 15 to September 9, a total of 147,393 patients with suspected measles were admitted to hospitals. During the same period, 141,819 patients were discharged from hospitals.

Three children died with suspected measles in the last 24 hours, while a total of 902 children have died from suspected measles since March 15.

No one died from confirmed measles in the last 24 hours. A total of 100 children have died from confirmed measles from March 15 to September 9.
