1,463 fresh dengue cases, 3 deaths reported in 24hrs

DHAKA, Sept 09, 2026 (BSS) - Health officials today said they recorded 1,463 fresh cases of dengue onslaughts killing at least three persons in the past 24 hours.

"During the period, (of the 1,463) 165 patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 169 in Chattogram division, 241 in Dhaka division, 169 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and 192 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) areas, 255 in Khulna division, 88 in Mymensingh division, 174 in Rangpur division and 10 in Sylhet division, a Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) statement said.

Since the start of the dengue onslaughts Bangladesh this year witnessed so far 133 deaths while the disease inflicted 46,938.

The dengue last year claimed 413 lives and inflicted 1,02,861 people in the country.

Besides, the dengue claimed 575 lives and inflicted 1,01,214 people in 2024.
