
RANGPUR, Feb 9, 2026 (BSS) - A training programme titled 'Higher Education Acceleration and Transformation (HEAT) Project Proposal Submission’ was held at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) today.
The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) organised the training programme in the virtual classroom of the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the university’s academic building-2.
Vice-chancellor of the university Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali was present at the event as the chief guest.
In his speech, he said that the HEAT project is a timely initiative to upgrade the higher education system of Bangladesh to modern, research-oriented and international standards.
"Through this project, it will be possible to enhance the quality of education and research in universities as well as make innovation and technology-based education programs more dynamic," he said.
He called on the teachers to play an active role in preparing effective and practical proposals under the HEAT project.
The keynote speech was presented by IQAC Director Professor Dr Md Tajul Islam.
He explained the objectives, structure, proposal preparation strategy and evaluation method of HEAT project in detail.
The training programme was chaired by IQAC Director Proffesor Dr Md Tajul Islam.
Teachers from various departments of the university participated in the event.
At that time, Additional Directors of IQAC Dr Md Abdur Rakib and Dr Md Sajib Mia were present.
