ACC approves charge sheet against Hasina, five others for Purbachal plot scam

DHAKA, Mar 10, 2025(BSS) -The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today approved charge sheet in six cases against ousted prime minister and Awami League chief Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana and their four family members on charge of misusing power to obtain six 10-katha plots at Purbachal New Town Project.

The charge sheets were approved by the three-member commission headed by ACC Chairman Dr Abdul Momen at its headquarters, Director General (DG) Prevention Md Akhter Hossain told the journalists.

The four other family members are- Sheikh Hasina's son Sajeeb Wazed Joy and daughter Saima Wazed Putul, Sheikh Rehana's son Radwan Mujib Siddiq Boby and daughter Azmina Siddiq Ruponti.

The ACC DG Akhtar Hossain said that the process of submitting the charge sheets to the court is now underway. There are some other accused in the case including a former state minister for Public Works Ministry Sharif Ahmed and officials of the Rajdhani Unnayan Katripokkha, the DG added.

According to the allegations, while Sheikh Hasina was the Prime Minister of the country in connivance with the ministry and RAJUK officials, illegally allotted six 10 katahs of land for each of them at road number 203 in the diplomatic zone of Purbachal area by suppressing the facts and misusing the state power violating the rules and regulations. 

The ACC earlier on January 12, 13 and 14 last filed six separate cases against Sheikh Hasina, Sheikh Rehena, Sajib Wajed Joy, Saima Wajed Putul Radwan Mujib Siddiq Boby and Azmina Siddiq Ruponti.
