DGHS issues 7-point directives to halt spread of Corona virus

DHAKA, June 11, 2025 (BSS) – The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today issued 7-point directives for the common people to prevent the spread of new variant of Covid-19 virus following the recent surge of the virus in different countries.

The DGHS Director General Prof. D. Mohammad Abu Jafor gave the directives while addressing a press conference here on Covid situation in the country.
He said,” Some sub-variants have already been detected. We have directed the port IHR desks to strengthen monitoring and ensure maintaining the health regulations properly.”   

For the common people, the directives of DGHS include avoiding public gathering, using face masks, covering mouth with limb or tissue during coughing, discharging used tissues at bins immediately, rapidly washing hands with soaps or hand sanitizers, avoiding affected people and maintaining social distances and not touching eyes and face by unclean hands. 
 
The DGHS asked the people, who are at risk of corona virus infections, to stay at home if affected by fever or coughing to use masks and ,if necessary, to communicate with nearby hospitals or IEDCR for instant support.

The Director General also assured the people not to be scared saying, “The rate of new variant covid affected in Bangladesh is much less than other neighboring countries. We have nothing to be worried.  The vaccination process is underway.”
