DHAKA, Jan 2, 2025 (BSS) – A court here today set March 20 for submitting investigation report in a graft case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) against former Natore-1 lawmaker Shahidul Islam Bakul.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain passed the order, accepting the first information report (FIR) in the case.

The ACC on January 1 filed the case against Shahidul for amassing illegal wealth of Taka 2.27 crore. He is also accused of making suspicious transactions of Taka 29.24 crore through eight bank accounts.

The case was filed under section 27(1) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Act, 2004, section 5(2) of The Prevention of Corruption Act, 1947, and sections 4(2), 4(3) of the Money Laundering Prevention Act, 2012.
