
FARIDPUR, Dec 5, 2025 (BSS) - Four people, including three members of the
same family, were killed in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a
battery-run auto-rickshaw at the Kaidubi rail crossing in Bhanga upazila today.
The deceased were identified as Nurunnahar Begum, 55, wife of Abdur Rahman of
Purba Sadardi village under Chumurdi union of Bhanga upazila, her daughter
Rimu Begum, 35, Rimu's three-year-old son Raihan.
One of the deceased, estimated to be around 65 years old, could not be
identified immediately, officials said.
The accident took place around noon today, Bhanga Highway Police Station
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Helal Uddin confirmed the incident.
Police and local sources said a 'New Modern Paribahan' bus coming from
Kuakata in Patuakhali to Jashore collided head-on with the easy bike heading
from Bhanga to Purba Sadardi.
The easy bike was mangled on impact, killing its four passengers on the spot
and injuring four others.
Highway police and Fire Service recovered the bodies after reaching the scene.
The injured were first taken to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex and later
shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Noting the development, OC Helal Uddin said, "The bodies will be handed over
to their families after completing legal formalities."
