CHATTOGRAM, Jan 25, 2025 (BSS): - Daily Amar Desh editor Dr. Mahmudur Rahman has requested all top stalwarts of anti-fascist forces including political leaders and students to maintain rock-solid unity that the nation had seen on August 5 last, and to be aware of any plot to rebound by ousted fascist force.

Mahmudur Rahman made the request while speaking at a function was organized by Chattogram Press Club (CPC) to accord him a reception and exchange of views with media.

Bangladesh Sammilito Peshajibi Parishad (BSPP)  , Chattogram chapter Convener journalist Zahidul Karim Kachi presided over the function held at CPC auditorium this morning.

Media Reform Commission Member and Daily Amar Desh Executive Editor Syed Abdal Ahmed , Bangladesh Sangbadik Kallyan Trust Managing  Director and journalists leader M Abdullah, the daily’s Moffashal editor Abu Darda Zubayer ,  BSPP leaders Dr. Khurshid Jamil Chowdhury , Eng. Selim Md Jane Alam, Chattogram Metropolitan Union of Journalists (CMUJ ) President Mohammed Shah Nowaz , General Secretary Saleh Noman , senior journalists-  Moinuddin Quadery Shawkat, Shamsul Haque Haidari , Mustafa Nayeem, Golam Mowla Murad and Shahnewaj Riton among others spoke at the function.
“Neighboring imperialist regime will never accept their defeat and that’s why it started playing games following the ousting of fascist Sheikh Hasina regime by using cards one after another.

After failure of  ISKCON card,  Mahmudur Rahman , a strong criticizer of Hasina government,  said  it began to use new card by spreading rumour on resignation of Prof. Yunus government through social media”.

He said fallen regime and their fascist allies are trying constantly to create a rift among the anti-fascist forces mostly among the political parties and students who led and ushered the July uprising.

Mahmudur Rahman said recent row among the top leadership was frustrating and unexpected for the nation and such debate will yield nothing but may create a chance to fuel the possible attempt of bouncing back by ousted forces.

He said as all the anti-fascist forces have failed to keep strong unity and spirit like before and on August 5, fallen fascist and their friends at home and abroad got inspired to hatch conspiracies over minority issue , labor unrest and agitation by Ansars .

“If we could have maintained the unity of August 5, India would have accepted the changes in Bangladesh, ” he commented.

He said responsibility of political leaders was more important and crucial for keeping unity as they are more matured and experienced than students and history will forgive none if the nation fail to harvest the fruit of July-August revolution due to widen schism that may lead to reverse the glory of mass-uprising.
