CHANDPUR, Feb 2, 2025 (BSS) - Police have arrested former convener of Chandpur district Swechasebak League SM Jainal Abedin on a charge of being involved with sabotage last night.

Chandpur Sadar Model police station arrested Jainal from Metro bakery located at Hazi Mohsin road in the city around 9pm on Saturday, said Officer in Charge (OC) M Bahar Mia of Chandpur Sadar Model Police Station.

Jainal Abedin also a proprietor of a food manufacturing company Metro Bakery and a resident of city's court area.

The former Swechhasebek League leader was allegedly involved in sabotage during the student people uprising, said the police.

He will be sent to the court after completing the necessary legal procedure.
