CHATTOGRAM, Feb 2, 2025 (BSS)- Police, in separate raids, have arrested two 
leaders of Awami League (AL) and its youth wing Jubo League from Karnaphuli 
upazila of the district in the early hours of today.

The arrested were Md Faruk, 53, a member of AL Charpatharghata Ward No. 8, 
and Md. Ali Akbar Haider, 43, general secretary of Charlakshya Ward No. 4 
Jubo League.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Karnaphuli Police Station Muhammad Sharif said a 
team of the police conducted separate drives in the area and arrested the duo 
around 2:00 am.

Later, the arrested were handed over to the Kotwali Police Station for 
further legal action as several cases in different charges filed there 
against them, the OC added.
