Tarique Rahman provides house to 'extrajudicial killing' victim Masud's family

DHAKA, Feb 03, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) acting Chairman and Chief Patron of 'Amra BNP Paribar', Tarique Rahman is gifting a new house to the family of 'extrajudicial killing' victim Shaheed Mohammad Masud, a youth leader of Feni's Sonagazi upazila.

A delegation of 'Amra BNP Paribar' will hand over the keys of a newly built house to the family of Masud in Char-Chandia village of Sonagazi upazila on Wednesday.

Tarique Rahman will virtually attend the ceremony as the chief guest.

BNP Vice Chairmen Barkat Ullah Bulu and Abdul Awal Mintu, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, Joint Secretary General Shahiduddin Chowdhury Annie, Treasurer M Rashiduzzaman Millat, will be present.

The programme will be presided over by 'Amra BNP Paribar' convener Atiqur Rahman Rumon.

At the program, financial assistance will be provided to the families of all those who were killed (martyred) during the July uprising in Feni, Noakhali and Lakshmipur.

The Organizing Secretary and Assistant Organizing Secretary of Chattogram division and local leaders of Feni, Noakhali and Lakshmipur districts of BNP will be present at the time.

Masud was arrested by the police in a false and baseless case almost a decade ago in 2016.

He fell ill due to police torture. But the police did not release him. BNP said he was the victim of extrajudicial killing as he was exposed to the crossfire.

Masud's wife is currently living a helpless life with a daughter who is studying in class 9.
