Court orders to seize tax files of ex-BFIU chief, 2 others

DHAKA, Feb 3, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered to seize tax files of 
former chief of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) Masud Biswas, 
police inspector Mir Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad and his wife Sabina Yasmin over 
graft allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the 
orders, allowing separate pleas of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC). 

The ACC in its plea against Masud Biswas alleged that the former BFIU chief 
amassed illegal wealth of Taka 1.87 crore and kept those under his 
possession. It also accused Abul Kalam for amassing illegal wealth of Taka 59 
lakh.
