CHATTOGRAM, Feb 3, 2025 (BSS)-A Chattogram court today ordered to show 11 accused in lawyer Saiful Islam Alif murder case as arrested in another case filed for attacking police and vandalizing the court premises.

Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Md Abu Bakar Siddique passed the order after police filed a petition before the court.

The accused are Bidhan Das, 29, Bikash Das, 24, Ranab Das, 24, Rumit Das, 29, Premanandan Das, 19, Raj Kapur, 55, Om Das, 26, Samir Das, 25, Ajay Das, 30, Shiv Kumar Das, 23 and Debi Charan, 36. All are now in custody.

Raihanul Wazed, assistant public prosecutor of Chattogram Metropolitan Magistrate Court confirmed the matter to the journalists.

Police filed the case against 600 to 700 unidentified people on November 27, mentioning the names of 52 people, on charges of attacking law enforcers and trying to kidnap the accused persons from police custody. 

Victim Alif's father , brother and police filed 5 cases on separate grounds over the gruesome killing of promising young lawyer Alif and subsequent clashes between police and rowdy supporters of expelled ISKON leader Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari after court reject his bail in sedition case on November 26 last year.
