DHAKA, Feb 5, 2025 (BSS) – Police on Tuesday arrested former chairman of Singair Upazila under Manikganj district Mushfiqur Rahman Khan alias Hannan from the city’s Dhanmondi area with arms and ammunition.
A team of Detective Branch (DB) of police from Mirpur division arrested the 60-year–old- former chairman from a house 23/B on road no-28 at Dhanmondi around 4:30pm on Tuesday, a police press release said.
They later recovered a Brazil made modern NPB revolver with 95 rounds of bullet and a Italian made .12 bore shotgun with its 80 rounds of bullets and two separate licenses of the revolver and shotgun from his own office at the 14th floor at Planers Tower at Bangla Motor.
Detained Hannan was accused in multiple criminal cases including murder and attempted murder with various Police Stations including Singair Police Station.
The Home Ministry earlier on August 25 last asked all the civilians to submit their licensed firearms with the respective police station which was issued between January 6, 2009 and August 5 in 2024, by September 3, 2024.
