Sheikh Hasina’s pomposity leads to her downfall: Golam Parwar

KHULNA, Feb 5, 2024 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami (BJI) Secretary General and ex-MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar has said Sheikh Hasina's arrogance is the reason for her downfall and fleeing the country. 
 
“In the last 16 years, the then government had destroyed all the departments of the country . . .  The mastermind of the dictator, Sheikh Hasina, has committed so many injustices that has compelled her to flee,” he said.

The BJI secretary general was speaking virtually from Khulna Press Club at a cover-unveiling ceremony of a book “July 2024 Uprising Martyrs’ Memorial”, organized by BJI at the National Press Club today.

He said, “Several of her (Hasina) misdeeds, including shooting from helicopters, burning dead people and other brutal activities have shaken the throne (Arosh) of Allah . . . People's hearts have knocked terribly  but the unkind heart of Sheikh Hasina hasn’t trembled at all.”

The people of the country do not want to see now any more tyranny in Bangladesh, the BJI senior leader observed.

BJI Central Organizing Secretary and Khulna Region Director Muhaddis Abdul Khaleque presided over the event while party’s Central Majlish-e-Shura member and Khulna City Unit Secretary Advocate Sheikh Jahangir Hussain Helal conducted it.

Referring to the July-August movement, Prof Parwar said the martyrs of the July movement do not belong to any party only, they are national assets and national heroes indeed. 

About the second independence martyrs’ memorial book, he said, “Divided into 23 groups, the Jamaat-e-Islami team visited different martyrs’ families to collect information. It published this 2,500-page of 10-volume book containing information about 717 people. The memorial work is underway with the information of 93 more victims.”

He said the work for collecting information is still going on and the publication of the martyrs' memorial book will continue till the information comes.

BJI Central Working Committee Member and Khulna Region Assistant Director Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Central Majlish-e-Shura member and Khulna District Amir Maulana Emran Hussain, Central Majlish-e-Shura member and Bagerhat District Amir Maulana Rezaul Karim, Khulna Alia Kamil Madrasa principal Dr Mufti Maulana Abdur Rahim, former executive member of Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists-BFUJ and former general secretary of Metropolitan Union of Journalists Khulna HM Alauddin, among others, also spoke on eth occasion.
