34 held in Ctg for attacking protestors during July uprising

CHATTOGRAM, Feb 5, 2025 (BSS) - Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested a total of 34 leaders and activists of Awami League, Chattra League, and Jubo League for attacking protestors during the student-led mass uprising in July and August.

A team of CMP conducted drives in different areas of the port city in the last 24 hours, ending at 2 pm today, and arrested them.

The detained leaders and activists of the ousted ruling Awami League and its different front organizations have been implicated in several cases under the anti-terrorism act for attacks and other criminal activities during the student-led Mass Uprising.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media and PR) CMP Mahmuda Begum said most of the arrestees are accused in several cases filed in connection with the attack and violent activities during the July-August uprising.
