Shamaruh Mirza, husband Faham accorded reception in Thakurgaon

THAKURGAON, Feb 6, 2025 (BSS) - BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's daughter medical scientist Dr Shamaruh Mirza and son-in-law health scientist and researcher Dr Faham Abdus Salam were accorded reception in Thakurgaon for their contribution to the country.

Eco Social Development Organization (ESDO), Thakurgaon Press Club and social and cultural organizations provided the reception at Zainul Abedin Hall of ESDO here this afternoon. 

ESDO founder and executive director Dr Muhammad Shahid Uz Zaman, District BNP General Secretary Mirza Faisal Amin, former principal of Thakurgaon Government College Monotosh Kumar Dey, acting president of Thakurgaon Press Club Lutfor Rahman Mithu were present, among others.

A physician by profession, Dr. Shamaruh has volunteered among culturally and linguistically diverse communities in Canberra, Australia. She is the co-founder of Sitara's Story, a volunteer and non-profit organization established in 2017.

On the other hand, Dr. Faham Abdus Salam received the honor of Post Doctoral Fellow after earning his PhD from the Australian National University. 

His columns 'Probas Pinjar' and 'Swadesh Bihang' in the weekly newspaper Jayjay gained immense popularity.

Dr. Shamruh Mirza said success never comes in life without hard work, so there is no alternative to hard work. 

Addressing the youth, Dr. Faham Abdus Salam said it is possible to make life easier by following the path of truth and speaking the truth. 

"If you take refuge in lies, they will stay in lies. Therefore, everyone must hold the truth within themselves, only then they will be able to succeed in life," he said.
