MEHERPUR, Feb 25, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council Member Aman Ullah Aman said the country becomes self reliant when BNP comes to power.

“If BNP comes to power, the country becomes self-reliant.

We need to work together under the leadership of Tarique Rahman to bring self-sufficiency to a nation currently struggling,” he told a rally at Meherpur Government College field today.

Aman urged the party leaders and activists to remain united, saying, “Anyone working against the party will be sidelined. There can be competition for leadership, but no one should work against the party. We must stay united, as unity is the only way forward.”

“Democracy can only be restored through unity. With Allah’s blessing, no one can stop BNP. No matter how many conspiracies they hatch, they have never succeeded in stopping us, and they won’t in the future,” Aman said.

The rally was organized to address several key-issues including the rising price of essential goods, deteriorating of law and order, and the need for a clear roadmap for democratic progress through elections.

Recalling the long history of BNP’s struggle, Aman said, “Over 17 years, the fascist government filed cases against 60 lakh BNP leaders and workers. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had banned all political parties and established Baksal. He had also restricted press freedom by shutting down all but four newspapers.”

In this connection, he said, “Ziaur Rahman, when in power, freed political parties and media outlets,” he added.

Chaired by district BNP Convener Javed Masud Milton, the rally was also addressed by Member Secretary Advocate Kamrul Hasan, former Lawmakers Masud Arun and Amjad Hossain, Joint Convener Amirul Islam, Foyez Mohammad, Zahangir Biswas and Zakir Hossen, among others.
