DHAKA, Feb 26, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today ordered to seize Taka 1.10 
crore in nine bank accounts of Department of Disaster Management deputy 
assistant engineer Md Nazrul Islam Mridha and his associates over graft 
allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the 
order, accepting a plea of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The ACC in its plea said they have received allegations from BFIU against 
Nazrul of embezzling money from many projects of the department by launching 
contractor firm on his name in spite of being a government employee. The 
anti-graft body is probing allegations of making suspicious transactions of 
Taka 26.82 crore through 13 bank accounts.

The plea further said the accounts of Nazrul and his associates should be 
seized immediately for the sake of proper investigation.
