Alleged terrorist 'Ramda Jyoti' arrested in Thakurgaon

THAKURGAON, March 8, 2025 (BSS) - Police arrested 'Ramda Jyoti' in the district in the early hours of today on the charges of carrying out terrorist activities on August 4, 2024 with the help of Jubo League terrorists to suppress the student movement.

Thakurgaon Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Shahidul Islam confirmed it to BSS.

The arrestee is the son of freedom fighter and playwright Rupkumar Guha Thakurta of Ashrampara area in the district.

According to family sources, Jyoti worked as a police constable after being recruited under quota system and was later, dismissed.

Police sources said that multiple cases have been filed against the arrestee.
