Tarique Rahman stands by July uprising injured Mubin

DHAKA, June 9, 2025 (BSS) - BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman had stood by July uprising injured Mubin, a computer operator by profession. 

Mubin, a teenager, lost his sight in both eyes during the July movement.

While joining a procession on July 18, Mubin fell to the ground sustaining bullet injury. He was immediately rushed to Bangladesh Kuwait Friendship Hospital. From there, he underwent multiple operations at the National Institute of Ophthalmology and Dhaka Medical College and later at the private Vision Eye Hospital.

Fatherless Mubin is the only wage earner in his family. Lakhs of taka were spent on his treatment at Vision Eye Hospital. He is currently at the risk of permanent vision loss due to lack of funds for advanced treatment. Mubin and his mother raised the issue of not receiving any assistance from anyone in front of the media.

When the matter came to the attention of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, on his instructions, BNP Health Affairs Secretary Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam rushed to Mubin's village home, Ward No. 5, Shidhalkura Union, Damudya Upazila, Shariatpur district today. 

There, he conveyed Eid greetings and financial assistance on behalf of Tarique Rahman to Mubin. At the same time, he assured Mubin of taking advanced treatment measures.
