DHAKA, March 9, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on
former Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Jannatul Ferdousi Rupa over graft
allegations.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the
order, allowing a petition of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

Confirming the matter to BSS, ACC deputy director (public relations) Aktarul
Islam said the commission is probing allegations of amassing huge illegal
wealth through corruption including securing bail for different cases accused
in exchange of money against the former DAG.

"The accused may flee the country to evade justice and if she succeeds in
doing so, the investigation will be jeopardized. So, a travel ban should be
imposed on her," the plea added.
