Travel embargo imposed on Salman F Rahman, 4 family members

DHAKA, March 10, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on Salman F Rahman, the former private industry affairs adviser to ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, and four family members including his wife Syed Rubaba Rahman.

The three other people, who have been barred to leave the country today, are Salman's son Shayan Fazlur Rahman, brother and Beximco Group chairman Ahmed Sohail Fasihur Rahman, Fasihur's son Ahmed Shahryar Rahman.

Deputy Director (public relations) of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Akterul Islam confirmed the matter to BSS.

The ACC in its plea said the commission is probing allegations against Salman and his close ones of becoming defaulter by choice of loan of Taka around 36,000 crore and laundering hundred of crores abroad. 

"For the sake of proper investigation, travel embargo should be imposed on them," the ACC plea said.
