DHAKA, March 10, 2025 (BSS) - A court here today imposed a travel ban on former Rajshahi-3 lawmaker Md Ayeen Uddin, former Netrokona-3 lawmaker Iftiquar Uddin Talukder Pintu and their family members over graft allegations.

Confirming the matter to BSS, deputy director (public relations) of the Anti-Corruption Commission Akterul Islam said Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib passed the orders, allowing separate pleas of the commission.

The other people, who were barred from leaving the country, are Ayeen's wife Mst Elina Akter Poli, Iftiquar's wife Ismat Ara Minu and three daughters Sumaia Mourmi Ifti, Saiba Mourmi Ishma and Ibnam Iftiquar.

The ACC in the identical pleas said both the former lawmakers have allegedly amassed huge illegal wealth through corruption and kept those under the possessions of them and their family members. The commission is probing the allegations against them and it has learned the accused are trying to flee the country to evade justice.

"For the sake of proper investigation, travel ban should be imposed on them," the ACC said.
